Bandits Abduct 16 in Kebbi State, Army Rescues Six

Bandits have abducted at least 16 people in a recent attack on Bena village and nearby areas in Kebbi State’s Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.

According to Lawali Umar, Secretary of the Security Committee in Wasagu, the bandits ambushed villagers working on their farms and took them hostage.

In a separate incident, bandits attacked Tudun Wada, where they kidnapped six people. Army personnel intervened, engaging in a gunfight that successfully freed the abducted individuals.

While some among the 16 initially captured managed to escape, about nine remain in captivity, with an undisclosed ransom demanded. Umar has urged the Kebbi State Government to increase security in vulnerable areas to protect farmers during the harvest season.

Residents of Lagos should prepare for traffic disruptions as several roads will be closed due to the visit of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is set to commission infrastructural projects.

The commissioning will take place on April 8 and 9, 2026.

Affected areas on Wednesday (April 8):
Opebi, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Ojota, and Victoria Island.

Affected areas on Thursday (April 9):
Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Ajegunle.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and expect heavy traffic during these periods.
