Davido Sets New Record with Africa’s Most-Watched TikTok Live

Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, known globally as Davido, has set a new record for the most-watched TikTok live stream in Africa.

The historic moment saw an impressive total of 389,800 viewers tuning in.

The session, which took place on Wednesday, October 30, saw Davido collaborating with popular TikTok influencers, Peller, Jarvis, and Jo Blaq.

The live stream captivated audiences, with over 164,000 people watching at the same time, making it an unforgettable event in Africa’s TikTok history.

During the session, Davido received a remarkable 377 lion gifts from fans.

These gifts, valued at $400 each, were sent in support and admiration for the superstar.

In a generous move, Davido later announced that he would distribute the funds earned from these gifts to his co-hosts, Peller, Jarvis, and Jo Blaq, acknowledging their roles in making the stream a huge success.

Before Davido’s groundbreaking record, Peller held the title for the most-watched TikTok livestream in Africa.

Peller, a well-known figure in the entertainment scene and the son of the famous Nigerian magician Professor Peller had previously set this record during a live stream featuring another music star, Tiwa Savage.

Davido’s record-breaking stream not only dethroned Peller but also marked a new milestone in African social media engagement, reflecting his immense influence and reach across the continent.

Popular Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD reveals why he dislikes the description “legend”.

In his recent appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast, the actor stated that he thinks being called a legend is a scam.

“I think the legend of a thing is a scam, I have my legends like Uncle Pete and Uncle Olu Jacobs; these are our ancestors and legends.

“I have been watching him (Olu Jacobs) when he was saying Ribena children are the healthy children. So I don’t subscribe to being called legend and when they call me that I feel they are trying to relegate me to neighbourhood of retired people or those nearing retirement.”

Tunde Onakoya Aims to Break World Record for Longest Chess Marathon

Nigerian Chess Player Tunde Onakoya sets himself in preparation for a challenge to break the world record for the longest chess marathon.

The chess player aims to reach 70 hours in New York City, from the 17th of April to 20th. The last score noted for the world break is 61 hours.

Onakoya will partner up with U.S. National Chess Master Shawn Martinez to break the world record.

He then speaks on his goal after breaking the world record “My goal is to inspire the world and secure resources to create a massive, tuition-free school for Nigeria’s homeless kids.”
