Iyabo Ojo Backs Mohbad’s Wife Against Accusations, Calls for Proof Over Judgment
Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has openly pledged her unwavering support for Omowunmi, the wife of late singer Mohbad, despite swirling accusations and public scrutiny.
Mohbad’s tragic passing on September 12, 2023, left many fans in shock and grief.
The suddenness of his death sparked a wave of controversy, causing countless online speculations, with some people now pointing fingers at Omowunm, his wifei.
These rumors have made her a central figure in the mystery.
Despite ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing, Iyabo Ojo has made it clear that her loyalty remains with Omowunmi unless she is legally proven guilty.
During an Instagram live session, Iyabo firmly addressed netizens, urging those with alleged evidence of Omowunmi’s involvement to hand it over to the authorities rather than contribute to what she described as a culture of online condemnation.
She expressed her frustration with the accusations circulating online, noting how harmful it is to attack someone without solid proof.
“A lot of people are angry that I’m supporting Wunmi, but there’s nothing concrete linking her to this,” Iyabo shared with her audience.
“Until the law proves her guilty, I will stand by her. If anyone has proof, they should go to the right authorities and present it.
But as long as there’s no credible evidence against her, I won’t join the crowd in tearing her down.”
Iyabo continued, undeterred by those who have criticized her decision.
“People can insult or curse me all they want. I won’t back down.
It’s not my way to cast judgment on social media.
We have laws in this country, and those who have anything solid should follow the legal path instead of fueling baseless accusations.”

“I was just watching, they did their thing. When they left, the manager turned and said ‘oya!’ then it started to occur to me that these guys, the difference is they create their own music, they make a sound and go to the studio and record and that’s how it’s done, and you are just a music man.”
“So how do I switch from music man to an artist, that was the difficult part of it and I thought it was going to be easy because I could play, I could sing…but now to create your own sound, where are you going to start from?”
