President Bola Tinubu is set to present the proposed 2025 budget to the National Assembly on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
This announcement came from Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a recent plenary session, where he informed lawmakers that the president had officially communicated his intention to appear before a joint session for the budget presentation.
Akpabio emphasized the significance of the upcoming presentation, marking a key moment in shaping Nigeria’s fiscal direction for the year ahead.
He stated, The president has expressed his readiness to present the 2025 budget before the National Assembly on December 17.
The proposed budget for 2025 stands at a staggering N47.9 trillion.
This figure was earlier disclosed by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu.
Bagudu, who has been instrumental in driving economic reforms and policies under President Tinubu’s administration, noted that the budget reflects strategic investments aimed at economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare.
The presentation of the budget to a joint session of the National Assembly is a critical annual tradition, providing lawmakers with insight into the government’s priorities for the coming year.

Teenage Football Prodigy Kaylen Dennis Dies on the Pitch During Match
Kaylen Dennis, a 17-year-old football talent and cousin of Sheffield United player Rhian Brewster, tragically passed away on Wednesday, December 11, during a match while playing for Walthamstow Football Club.
The semi-professional club confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating, “We are devastated to learn of the passing away of one of our U23 players, Kaylen Dennis, during a game. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and everyone who knew him.”
The cause of Kaylen’s sudden collapse and death remains unknown, leaving the football community in mourning.
Rhian Brewster paid a touching tribute to his late cousin during Sheffield United’s match against Millwall. After scoring the opening goal, Brewster pointed to the sky in his honor.
