Troost-Ekong Confident Super Eagles Will Beat Zimbabwe in World Cup Qualifier

William Troost-Ekong has assured that the Super Eagles will give their all to secure a win against Zimbabwe in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Eric Chelle’s team will face Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo next Tuesday.
“We heard that Zimbabwe is feeling confident about getting a result in Uyo, but they should forget about it,” Troost-Ekong said to thenff.com.
He emphasized the team’s strong desire to qualify for the World Cup, saying, “Aside from me, Alex Iwobi, and maybe a couple of others who played at the 2018 World Cup, this generation is hungry to compete at the highest level. We want to make Nigeria proud and prove ourselves.”
The Super Eagles boosted their qualification hopes with a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali last Friday. Nigeria currently sits in fourth place in Group C with six points from five matches.

Popular Boxing Legend George Foreman passes away at age 76. The heartbreaking news was confirmed on the 21st of March, 2025.
The boxing legend family then releases a statement “Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announced the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman St. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.”
Foreman was a two-time worded heavyweight winner and an Olympic winner in 1968. In 1971, he took on Joe Frazier in ‘The Fight of the Century’.

Nwabali Praises Super Eagles’ Strong Performance in 2-0 Win Against Rwanda

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has shared his thoughts on Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Friday.
Nwabali described the win as a solid performance and hinted that the team also enjoyed some sightseeing during their time in Kigali.
“Solid win and clean sheet. We went for sightseeing. Great team spirit!” Nwabali posted on his X account after the match.
Victor Osimhen’s brace secured all three points for the Super Eagles, moving them to fourth place in Group C with six points from five matches, just one point behind Rwanda.
Next up, Nigeria will face Zimbabwe on Tuesday, and Nwabali will be aiming for another clean sheet. Zimbabwe recently played out a 2-2 draw with Benin Republic in their last qualifier.
