Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice believes his team could have easily scored 10 goals in their thrilling 2-1 victory over Tottenham in Wednesday’s North London Derby.

The Gunners made a strong comeback after going behind to Heung-Min Son’s opening goal.

A Dominic Solanke own goal and Leandro Trossard’s strike turned the game in Arsenal’s favour, securing their second win over Spurs this season after a 1-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier.

Despite dominating much of the game, Arsenal missed several chances to add to their tally.

Rice, reflecting on the match with TNT Sports, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance but also frustration at their missed opportunities.

“You could tell how much this match meant to everyone,” Rice said. “We dominated from the first minute, especially in the first half. The intensity, the pressure, and the passion were all there.

It was clear this was a derby. Honestly, we could have easily scored 10 goals tonight. That’s how we all felt.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the club’s plans to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.

Speaking after his team’s impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Tottenham on Wednesday night, Arteta emphasized the need for reinforcements as they navigate injuries to key players.

The win in the North London Derby keeps Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes alive. They now sit four points behind league leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand. However, Arteta faces a tough challenge with the loss of two crucial players.

“We’ve lost two very important players,” Arteta revealed. “Bukayo [Saka] could be sidelined for up to three months, and Gabriel Jesus might be out for an even longer period.

So yes, we’re looking to bring in new players this window. We’re actively searching and will see what’s possible.”
