TikTok Restored in U.S. After Ban Following Donald Trump’s Intervention
TikTok resumed its services in the United States on Sunday, just hours after the platform went offline in compliance with a federal ban.
President-elect Donald Trump quickly announced plans to delay the ban through an executive order, giving TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, additional time to secure an approved buyer.
The ban, part of a law passed in April with bipartisan support, required ByteDance to sell its U.S. operations by Sunday or face severe penalties.
In response, TikTok temporarily shut down its platform late Saturday night, with Google and Apple removing the app from their stores.
The sudden blackout left users frustrated, including tennis star Coco Gauff, who referenced the ban after her fourth-round win over Belinda Bencic at the Australian Open.
Gauff, after her dramatic 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 comeback, wrote “RIP TikTok USA” with a broken heart on a courtside camera lens.
By Sunday afternoon, however, TikTok users were greeted with a message expressing gratitude to both its supporters and President Trump: “Thanks to President Trump’s efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S.!”

Pastor Tunde Bakare Speaks on Rising Kidnappings, Urges Government Action

The pastor urges the government on steps they can take to solve and help the people of the country. “The Nigerian government has a clear and urgent duty to protect these Middle Belt communities, who have carried the weight of violence for far too long.”
“Rather than play the ostrich and cover up clear terrorism as mere farmer-herder clashes, the Nigerian state has a responsibility to invade the camps of armed marauders who hide under the cloak of herdsmen of whatever ethnicity, and who invade defenceless communities and gleefully massacre unarmed men, women and children.”
