“We Could Not Cope With That” – Guardiola Admits PSG Were Better Than Man City
Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has acknowledged that Paris Saint-Germain were the better team after his side suffered a 4-2 defeat in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Speaking to TNT Sport after the game, Guardiola reflected on the performance, admitting PSG were simply the superior side. “In the first half, they had a few moments, we had a few chances, but overall, they were better,” Guardiola said.
“At 2-0, we were comfortable, but they quickly responded and scored. From that point on, we couldn’t regain control. They were quicker, stronger in duels, and had an extra man in the midfield. We couldn’t match their speed and intensity.”
Guardiola didn’t shy away from accepting the defeat, conceding that PSG deserved their victory. “The best team won tonight,” he added. “We still have a chance to qualify if we win our last game against Brugge at home. We have to make sure we don’t waste that opportunity.”
