Ferdinand Criticizes Man U Performance After Crystal Palace Defeat
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has criticized his former club following their disappointing 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Ferdinand, speaking on his show Rio Ferdinand Presents, expressed his frustration with the current state of the team under manager Ruben Amorim.
He pointed out that teams are now visiting Old Trafford without fear or respect, which is a stark contrast to the dominance United once had at home.
The defeat came courtesy of two goals from Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, which sealed all three points for the visitors. Ferdinand described the situation as a “sad state of affairs” and admitted it was a “morbid weekend” for the club.
He went on to state the team’s lack of fluidity, saying that they are struggling to play effective football with the ball at their feet.
Ferdinand also mentioned the absence of clear patterns or structure in the team’s play, something that was more evident under previous managers.
On the defensive side, Ferdinand was particularly critical, stating that United’s defense seems unable to read danger, especially when they are pushed high up the pitch. In his eyes, the overall performance is far from good enough in all aspects.
