Jorge Jesus Says Ronaldo Has Not Won Any Official Trophy in Saudi Arabia
Al-Hilal’s manager, Jorge Jesus, has downplayed Cristiano Ronaldo’s achievements in Saudi Arabia, insisting the Portuguese star has not won any official trophy since joining Al Nassr.
Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr in 2022 after his controversial exit from Manchester United, where he had a public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag.
Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, he has been the club’s standout performer and currently leads the goal charts with 24 strikes across all competitions.
Despite his dominance on the pitch, Jesus refuses to acknowledge Ronaldo’s success. Al-Nassr famously defeated Al-Hilal in the Arab Club Champions Cup final on August 12, 2023, with Ronaldo scoring twice to seal a dramatic comeback despite his team being down to nine men.
However, critics argue that the tournament, held during pre-season, is more of a friendly than an official competition.
Speaking to Channel 11, Jesus dismissed the idea that Ronaldo has won anything in Saudi Arabia. “He’s won everything in football except the World Cup with Portugal, and he still hasn’t won anything here,” the Al-Hilal boss stated.
Former Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher, speaks on Arsenal’s next match and claims that their game against Aston Villa will be challenging and described it as a test for the team to see how well they perform.
“Arsenal have looked the best team in the league by a long way so far this season, but Man City are still only five points behind.
There’s a long way to go and Arsenal will need to keep their heads! It could be tested tomorrow against Aston Villa!!”
Former Manchester United player, Jesse Lingard, has revealed that he has mutually agreed to leave FC Seoul and his contract will end. It is reported that he will leave next week.
It can be noted that the footballer joined in February 2024 and has made 66 appearances since then, scoring 18 goals.
The player shared his experience on social media, saying “My time in South Korea has been unbelievable — the football, the atmosphere, and the passion around this club have been top class.”
“The love, support, and appreciation you have shown towards me over these last two years has been truly amazing. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity to play for such a massive club.”
Former footballer, Rio Ferdinand compares Arsenal star player, Bukayo Saka, to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
When comparing players, he shared that: “When Saka is on it, he looks unplayable,” however he also stated that even with Salah’s stature, he is strong.
He has got the strength like Mohamed Salah. He is small in frame and size when you look at him, but do you ever see him get pushed off the ball?
“You don’t really see people take the ball off him or put him on his arse. He is a strong little guy.”
