Morocco Coach Confident Despite Tough U-20 AFCON Group

Morocco’s head coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, has shared his thoughts on the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations draw, acknowledging the tough competition ahead.
Morocco finds itself in Group B alongside regional rivals Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa. Nigeria remains the most successful team in the tournament’s history with seven titles, while Egypt has lifted the trophy four times.
Ouahbi admitted the group won’t be easy but made it clear that Morocco’s goal is to win the tournament.
“It’s a tough group with strong teams. Nigeria has a rich history in this competition, Egypt is a familiar opponent, and South Africa is making big strides at the youth level,” he said.
He added that Morocco has been preparing this generation of players for two years with the ambition of winning the title.
