Kim Soo-hyun Faces Criticism Over Alleged Relationship With Kim Sae-ron

South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun is currently facing significant public criticism following allegations of a past romantic relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron, which purportedly began when she was a minor.
These claims have caused a lot of criticism across various online platforms, with many netizens expressing their disapproval and calling for boycotts of the actor’s work.
Allegations and Public Reaction
The controversy intensified after the YouTube channel Hoverlab released materials provided by Kim Sae-ron’s family, including a photograph suggesting intimacy between the two actors and a text message from Kim Sae-ron to Kim Soo-hyun, indicating financial distress and a plea for assistance. In the message, dated March 19, 2023, she wrote:
“Oppa, it’s Sae-ron. I received the content-certified letter. You’re suing me… I can’t manage 700 million won all at once. Please give me time. I’m begging you, please help me.”
These revelations have led to a surge of negative comments on social media platforms. Users have expressed their anger and disappointment, with some accusing Kim Soo-hyun of unethical behavior. One Twitter user commented:
“Even if it’s her number, you shouldn’t have spread it. Is he being serious right now? He is literally way older than her; why is he acting like this?”
Another user expressed outrage, stating: “I’m speechless, man. What… This is… oh my god, I’m so mad.”
This has extended beyond online criticism, with calls for boycotts of Kim Soo-hyun’s current and future projects. Viewers are urging networks and production companies to reconsider his involvement in ongoing shows and upcoming films.
The actor’s latest Instagram post has been inundated with over 193,000 comments, many demanding his removal from public platforms and expressing disappointment in his alleged actions.
Reemergence of Past Controversies
Despite the current scandal, previous controversies involving Kim Soo-hyun have resurfaced. These include allegations of inappropriate behavior during his youth, such as underage drinking, smoking, and setting fire to paper airplanes that caused damage to school property.
Additionally, past comments he made about dating younger women have been brought back into the spotlight, further fueling public outrage.
Official Response
In response to the allegations, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has firmly denied any romantic involvement between the actor and Kim Sae-ron, labeling the claims as “baseless” and “malicious.” The agency has threatened legal action against those spreading these rumors, stating:
“The claims that Kim Soo-hyun had a romantic relationship with Kim Sae-ron from the age of 15 are entirely untrue.”
Impact on Career
The ongoing controversy poses a significant threat to Kim Soo-hyun’s career. Public sentiment has shifted dramatically, with many fans expressing feelings of betrayal and disappointment. The actor’s current projects are under scrutiny, and industry insiders speculate potential repercussions, including loss of endorsements and roles.
As the situation continues to unfold, the full impact on Kim Soo-hyun’s career remains uncertain. The allegations have undoubtedly tarnished his public image, leading to widespread criticism and calls for accountability. Whether he can recover from this scandal will depend on forthcoming developments and the public’s response to any further revelations.

“Afrobeats Has Stalled” – Amaarae Hails Rema’s ‘HEIS’ for Pushing Boundaries

Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae goes viral after sharing her thoughts on the current state of Afrobeats, stating that the genre has stalled.
She expressed concern about how Afrobeats is becoming too repetitive and urged artists to experiment with new sounds.
“Afrobeats and African music need to evolve. It needs to evolve in a direction that is fearless, and I think right now artists have made so much money from a certain type of sound that they are afraid to step out of the boundaries because they are probably more focused on the financial aspect of it. And as a result, I think Afrobeats has stalled.”
The singer then gave an example, commenting on how Rema did just that with his recent album “HEIS”.
