Guardiola Confirms Nico O’Reilly Will Play in Man City’s FA Cup Semi-Final
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that young midfielder Nico O’Reilly will be part of Manchester City’s squad for their FA Cup semi-final clash against Nottingham Forest in April.
The City boss made this known after his team’s hard-fought 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.
Guardiola praised O’Reilly’s performance, describing his impact as exceptional. The youngster had already caught attention earlier in the competition by scoring twice against Plymouth.
“Nico scored two goals against Plymouth, and his impact today was outstanding,” Guardiola told ITV. “He is going to play in the semi-final for sure!”
City secured their spot in the semi-finals thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush. They will now take on Nottingham Forest, who progressed after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Brighton.
Next up for the Premier League champions is a league fixture against Leicester City on Wednesday.
