Nigerian Journalist, Shaibu Husseini, Director General of the NFVCB (The National Film and Video Censors Board), stated on Wednesday that distributing unclassified material constitutes an offense. He emphasized that the NFVCB is working closely with law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute individuals and production companies involved in the unauthorized release of content.

Additionally, the board condemned the promotion and distribution of same-sex content online, asserting that showcasing such relationships in public is illegal in Nigeria.

Husseini reiterated, “It is also illegal to distribute or exhibit any film, video content, musical videos, or skits on any platform without obtaining classification from the National Film and Video Censors Board.”
