Joeboy Loses N3 Million Bet After Arsenal Beat Real Madrid 3-0 in Champions League
Joeboy found himself on the losing end of a hefty N3 million bet after Arsenal stunned Real Madrid with a 3-0 victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash on Tuesday night.
Just hours before the game, the singer had shared his confidence online, posting a betting slip and writing, “Cashing out on Arsenal tears tonight!” He was set to pocket over N10 million if the Spanish giants had delivered.
But things didn’t go his way. Declan Rice scored two stunning free-kicks to put the Gunners ahead, and Mikel Merino sealed the night with a third goal, leaving Madrid fans — and Joeboy — in disbelief.
After the match, Joeboy didn’t have much to say. He simply tweeted, “Goodnight.” Now, Arsenal will shift their focus to the second leg in Spain next Wednesday, where they hope to finish the job. But first, they’ll face Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.
