Arsenal have opened talks to sign Francisco Trincao from Sporting CP, as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season. According to reports from Portugal, the Gunners are among three Premier League clubs showing strong interest in the 25-year-old winger, who is also on Manchester United’s radar.

Trincao has been a key target for United, especially with manager Ruben Amorim having previously worked with him at both Braga and Sporting. Arsenal have reportedly kept a close eye on the Portuguese international this season, scouting him regularly during his games.

The winger, who previously had a loan stint with Wolves in the Premier League during the 2021–22 season, still has two years left on his contract with Sporting. Trincao joined Sporting permanently from Barcelona in 2023, but the Spanish club included a €25 million buyback clause that expires next year and also retained 50 percent of any future sale.
