Former England international John Fashanu has shared his ambition to become the next head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

The ex-Aston Villa and Norwich City striker, who is passionate about Nigerian football, believes he has the skills to lead the three-time African champions. In a recent interview in Ogun State, Fashanu expressed his confidence, saying, “I want to manage the Eagles. It’s one of the toughest jobs in the country, but I know I can do it, especially with the right people around me who truly understand the game.”

At 62, Fashanu, born in England to a Nigerian father and a British mother, has always had ties to Nigeria. Though he represented England twice on the international stage, his connection to Nigeria remains strong. Fashanu even once ran for president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Currently, Malian coach Eric Chelle manages the Super Eagles.
