Miley Cyrus Says Surgery Could Change Her Voice So She Won’t Do It
American singer Miley Cyrus has opened up about her struggle with a vocal condition called Reinke’s edema. In a heartfelt chat with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, she revealed how her past habits of drinking and smoking at a young age contributed to the problem.
Reinke’s edema is a swelling of the vocal cords caused by fluid buildup, often linked to long-term smoking. But Miley says her case is different — she believes it’s more about her genetics than just lifestyle. She explained that her voice has always had a unique sound because of her anatomy. Miley also shared that she has a large polyp on her vocal cords, but she’s hesitant to have surgery. She worries that the procedure could change her voice permanently.
“I have this condition called Reinke’s edema, which basically means my vocal cords have been abused,” Miley said. “Being 21 and partying, drinking, and smoking after shows didn’t help. But honestly, that’s not what caused it — my voice has always sounded this way.” She added, “There’s a big polyp on my cords, and I’m not ready to remove it because there’s a real chance I could lose my voice or sound different after surgery.”
Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James celebrated her 31st birthday and shared pictures on social media with her daughter.
The influencer spoke about how her life has changed and described motherhood as the greatest gift she has received.
“A year older, but the greatest gift isn’t the age… It’s the title I earned this year: MOTHER! This birthday hits differently because my heart now beats outside my body.”
“Before this year, birthdays were about me. Now, they’re a reminder of the little soul who made me a mom and changed my life forever.”
Nigerian actor Bovi has spoken about marriage and divorce, sharing his thoughts on the subject.
The actor revealed during a recent interview that not all divorces should be seen as failures.
He explained that sometimes a marriage gets to a point where one or both partners can no longer breathe comfortably in the relationship, which could eventually lead to divorce.
“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage.”

During a recent interview, the actor revealed that his wife gave him the most painful news he had ever received.
“The only person that did the most painful thing to me in life is my wife. The incident brought tears to my eyes. She’s late now, may God forgive her.”
The actor revealed that his wife told him that the pregnancy she was carrying was not his and that the child belonged to another man.
