Priyanka Chopra Arrives Hyderabad With Daughter as Movie Shoot Pauses Due to Strike
Priyanka Chopra is back in India, and this time, she’s brought her daughter Malti along for the journey. The actress was spotted arriving in Hyderabad over the weekend, reportedly to kick off her part in the filming of the much-anticipated action-adventure movie SSMB29, directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring South Indian superstar Mahesh Babu.
Sharing a glimpse of their trip, Priyanka posted photos of Malti on her Instagram story, one of them showing her tiny hand in Priyanka’s, and another of the toddler staring out at the rainy Hyderabad streets. The photos quickly grabbed attention from fans, especially with excitement building around SSMB29.
However, just as filming was set to begin, the Telugu film industry came to a standstill. Over 10,000 film crew members, including lighting techs, set designers, camera operators, and other behind-the-scenes workers, have gone on strike. Their main demand is a 30% increase in wages, citing the rising cost of living and long working hours.
Because of the strike, production on several major projects, SSMB29 included, has been paused. Filmmakers, producers, and workers are still in talks, but for now, no one knows exactly when cameras will start rolling again.
