Hilda Baci begins her challenge to cook world’s largest pot of Jollof Rice

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has begun her bold attempt to set a new Guinness World Record by cooking the largest pot of jollof rice, using 250 bags of rice for the challenge.

The record-breaking cook, who first captured global attention in 2023 with her longest cooking marathon feat, kicked off this new journey at Eko Hotels, Lagos, where an excited crowd gathered to cheer her on.

Before the cooking began, Hilda shared a heartfelt moment with her mother as they prayed together for strength, protection, and endurance. The touching scene moved many in the audience, who praised her mother for being a strong support system in Hilda’s rise.

Sharing the excitement online, Hilda revealed she personally washed the giant pot, joking that it was spotless and ready to hold thousands of servings of jollof that would make history.

The event, originally scheduled for Muri Okunola Park, had to be moved to Eko Hotels due to the massive interest it drew, with more than 20,000 people registering to witness the milestone.
