American singer Taylor Swift has achieved another remarkable milestone in her music career. She has surpassed British singer Ed Sheeran to become the most followed artist in Spotify’s history. Swift’s hit song “Cruel Summer” helped her amass 114.6 million followers, breaking Sheeran’s previous record.
Additionally, Swift holds the record for the highest-grossing music tour in history with her ‘Eras’ tour. This tour grossed over $1 billion, surpassing British legend Elton John’s five-year farewell tour, which generated $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows. In December 2023, Swift set a new Guinness World Record as the first musician to achieve billionaire status solely through music earnings.
