Uzee Usman Criticizes Selfishness; Kate Henshaw Slams Electricity Tariffs
Popular Nigerian actor Uzee Usman recently shared a heartfelt message criticizing the selfishness and lack of genuine concern among people. He expressed that many individuals are so self-centered that they are indifferent to others’ suffering. According to Usman, during tough times, one often suffers alone while others only pretend to care. He challenged the authenticity of such concern, asking his followers if they truly care about others.
Usman wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “In the end, nobody cares. Whatever you’re going through, you’re on your own. If you talk to someone, they exploit your problems. If you don’t, you suffer in silence. People pretend to care, but they really don’t. Do you?”
In other news, Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has criticized Nigeria’s recent changes to its electricity pricing scheme, calling them unfair and “daylight theft.” On July 9, 2024, Henshaw posted on X, condemning the frequent tariff increases and the separation of customers into different power supply bands. She argued that everyone should have fair access to electricity and pay reasonable rates. Henshaw’s comments were in response to journalist Olive Modi’s remarks about Nigeria’s poor power supply and the challenges faced by consumers. Many X users supported Henshaw’s stance, sharing their frustrations with the current electricity situation.
