Phyno Talks About the Struggles of Balancing Music and Marriage
Nigerian rapper and music sensation, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, better known as Phyno, has shared his candid thoughts on the challenges celebrities face when it comes to balancing marriage and a demanding career, especially in the music industry.
During a recent appearance on the In My Opinion podcast, Phyno opened up about the complexities of managing both marriage and a career in music.
The rapper, famous for hits like Alobam and Fada Fada, described music as a “jealous and tasking” career, explaining that the intense demands of the industry often make it difficult to maintain personal relationships.
He went on to elaborate, saying that, statistically, many celebrities’ careers begin to falter once they get married.
Phyno acknowledged that this might sound harsh but emphasized the unique pressures placed on musicians.
“Music is basically a jealous career,” he said.
“That’s why so many people drop out of school to focus on it.
The ones who manage to juggle both deserve a lot of credit because it’s not an easy task.”
“Sometimes, some people reach a certain level of fame, then they rush back to school, only to return to the music scene later,” he noted.
He emphasized the importance of focusing on one thing at a time, especially given the personal sacrifices involved in creating music.
“Music takes all your time. You can’t really focus on anything else when you’re in the thick of it.”
Phyno also touched on the personal nature of songwriting.
For artists who write their own music, the lyrics often reflect their own life experiences, including relationships.
“If you’re going through a tough time with a partner, you can’t realistically write about happiness,” he said.
“Your music is shaped by what you’re experiencing, unless you rely on songwriters, but even then, there’s still a personal touch.”

FG Counsel Refutes Claims of Arraigned Protesters Being Minors, Labels Them Adults and Married Men
The Federal Government’s legal counsel, Rimazonte Ezekiel, has rejected claims that the 67 individuals arraigned for participating in the End Bad Governance protest are minors.
Speaking to newsmen post-arraignment, Ezekiel clarified that the accused are “adults, with most being married men,” contrary to the public belief that they are underage.
“These boys are adults; none of them is a minor. Some are university graduates, and many are married. The children seen at court were merely there to greet their relatives. The actual suspects were detained in Kaduna and Zaria,” he explained.
Ezekiel added that these individuals allegedly used foreign symbols and slogans during the protests, calling for military intervention in Nigeria, which he described as an act against the nation’s democratic values.
