Sabinus’ Father Abducted and Released After Ransom Payment
According to a report by Premium Times, Sabinus’ father was abducted on the night of July 9, 2024. The incident occurred between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm when Mr. Ejekwu was returning to his home in Port Harcourt after a trip outside Rivers State. As he was about to enter his house, armed men intercepted and kidnapped him. During their escape, a gunfight broke out between the kidnappers and the local security force, Ospac, resulting in the death of one Ospac member. Additionally, a neighbor of Mr. Ejekwu was struck by a stray bullet and has been hospitalized.
Sabinus, a well-known Nigerian comedian, reacted a few days after his father’s release, which was secured by paying the ransom demanded by the kidnappers. Sabinus has often expressed his deep affection for his father, describing him as his greatest role model and inspiration. It was reported that bandits were seen in Kwara State and abducted six residents from Rukpete Village.
