Obi Cubana: Poor Men’s Children Acquiring Rich Men’s Wealth
Popular Nigerian socialite Obi Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, recently shared insights on wealth accumulation and generational dynamics.
He observed that today, the children of poor men are acquiring the properties once owned by rich men, whose wealth often dissipates after their passing. Cubana emphasized the importance of not solely focusing on acquiring wealth but also on enjoying it during one’s lifetime.
He pointed out a societal shift where the offspring of yesterday’s rich now serve the children of yesterday’s poor, highlighting the cyclical nature of prosperity. Cubana concluded with a reflection on the fleeting nature of time and the significance of ensuring acquired wealth benefits society positively.

While speaking, he expressed his disappointment with not having a send-forth after his contribution to the media house. “I worked in Wazobia for 13 years plus and when I resigned, they didn’t even do me a send-forth…”

The singer shared his reason as he revealed this, stating he wants to pursue his career solo before any big collaboration.
“After we dropped the hit song ‘With You’, Davido called me for a new collaboration but I declined because I have my career to pursue too.”

The singer took to social media and urged the government “TO MR PRESIDENT. IF YOU REALLY, TRULY WANNA END INSECURITY IN NIGERIA? Start by increasing the salary and allowances of the armed forces. The salary of the army, the navy, the air force, the Nigerian Police Force is too small, too shameful. Increase their salary, this job should be worth dying for.
