Cesc Fabregas Named Como Coach as Club Signs Alberto Moreno and Pepe Reina
Cesc Fabregas has been confirmed as the new head coach of Como, ahead of their return to Serie A after 21 years. Fabregas, who played a key role in Como’s promotion last season, signed a four-year contract.
The club has also signed former Spain defender Alberto Moreno on a one-year deal, with a potential extension. Moreno, a Europa League winner with Sevilla and Villarreal, joins after leaving Villarreal.
Recently, Como faced criticism when a player made a controversial comment comparing South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan to ‘Jackie Chan’ during a friendly match. The club defended the player, stating it was not meant derogatorily.
Additionally, Como signed veteran goalkeeper Pepe Reina until June 2025. Reina, who has played for Barcelona, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich, will serve as a backup for Pau Lopez, expected to join from Marseille.
Como’s Serie A season kicks off with a match against Juventus.
