APC Chieftain Ibikunle Urges Patience and Support for Tinubu’s Economic Policies
Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking in Ibadan on Saturday, Ibikunle addressed the planned nationwide protest set for August 1, urging young people to reconsider their intentions.
He emphasized that the present economic challenges are temporary and will improve over time. Ibikunle acknowledged the difficulties faced by the Tinubu administration but highlighted the ongoing efforts to address these issues.
He pointed out that the current economic policies, though challenging in the short term, are designed to lead to long-term prosperity.
Ibikunle, who previously served as a personal assistant to the late Governor Lam Adesina, expressed confidence that the strategies being implemented by President Tinubu will eventually steer the economy back to a path of growth.
He encouraged the youth to support the government’s efforts and to understand the complexities involved in revitalizing the nation’s economy.
He concluded by appealing to the organizers of the protest to allow the administration some time to see the effects of its policies, stressing that collaboration and patience are essential for building a better future for the country.

He shared his thoughts, saying the governor likely consulted with his close allies before making key decisions.
“My assumption is that the governor would have gone with his own close allies, discussed with them, and said that this is the best way, that he has to move forward for the next six months or thereabouts of his administration. I would assume that’s what he did.”
“But I am not in his chamber, so I wouldn’t know. But that’s what I would assume he would do.”
He added “But having taken the responsibility to come and finish his term, then he has to finish it in the way that allows him to govern. He can’t go back into fighting.”
Politician and former President Olusegun Obasanjo speaks on Nigeria and shares that the possibility of Nigeria surviving another civil war is quite low.
He revealed that the issues that led to the Biafra War have not been resolved and that if another war breaks out, it will be much harder to resolve.
Reflecting on the civil war, he shared “The conditions that led to the Nigerian civil war years ago still remain unresolved.”
“I was involved in the civil war, but whenever people ask me about the Asaba massacre, I always tell them I cannot give details because Murtala Muhammed was responsible for operations in that area.”
Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose pleads with the government and President Tinubu that the minimum wage needs to be increased.
He shared that the current minimum wage of ₦70,000 is not enough considering the current state of the country and urged the government to increase it to ₦200,000.
“President Tinubu, have mercy on our people and increase the minimum wage to ₦200,000 now. I don’t think anyone can survive on the current ₦70,000 minimum wage. ₦70,000 is nothing. If we don’t solve the minimum wage problem, we can’t solve crime.”
