Journalist Rufai Osenu has taken to X to question why pastors and professors who condemned former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 are now silent about the high cost of living in Nigeria.
Oseni called out those who protested in 2012 but refuse to speak up now, labeling them as hypocrites.
He wrote: “Why are the pastors and professors who condemned Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 silent now amid the current economic hardships? Hypocrisy at its peak.”

Pastor Tunde Bakare Turns 70 And Church Celebrates His Legacy
General Overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, celebrates his 70th birthday, with his church honouring him. Known for his boldness, he is unafraid to voice his thoughts, especially regarding Nigeria.
Pastor Bakare started his career as a lawyer but left the profession in 1988, stating the Lord has called him. He was born a Muslim and then converted to Christianity and has since minstered to souls in 1989. The Preacher founded his own church formerly called ‘The Latter Rain Assembly,’ on April 1, 1989, which is now known as ‘The Citadel Global Community Church.’
Pastor Bakare also ran for president in 2011, alongside Muhammadu Buhari, and again in 2023, with Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu.

Enugu Magistrate Court Remands Man Over Alleged Death of 11-Year-Old Houseboy
An Enugu Magistrate’s Court has remanded Anthony Onyeukwu, 47, over allegations of abuse leading to the death of his 11-year-old houseboy, Goodluck John.
Following a tip-off, Enugu’s Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Mrs. Ngozi Enih, reported that Onyeukwu attempted to cover up the incident by hastily burying the boy without notifying authorities.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Calista Ifeanyi, stated that Onyeukwu’s actions violated the Criminal Code of Enugu State. The case is adjourned to November 20, 2024, for further proceedings.
