EFCC Launches Immigration Fraud Section to Combat Scams

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched an Immigration Fraud Section across several of its commands to address rising immigration-related fraud. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede announced this initiative on Tuesday while hosting a delegation from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), led by Director General Superintendent Rabhi Abdallah, at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
Olukoyede explained that the new section, established two weeks ago, aims to combat immigration fraud and mitigate its negative impact on the country’s reputation. The section is now operational in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, and all zonal commands with embassies. He emphasized the need to focus resources on preventing visa and immigration scams that have affected many individuals and diplomatic missions. Olukoyede also expressed the EFCC’s willingness to collaborate with the RCMP in tackling corruption.

Catholics in Benue Pray and Ask God to Bring Peace and End the Killings

Catholics across Benue State came together on Thursday in a heartfelt prayer walk, seeking God’s help for peace to return to the troubled region. The walk, which drew large crowds from different parishes, was marked by hymns, placards, and quiet reflection. Priests, religious groups, and lay faithful joined in solidarity as they moved through the streets.
They also prayed for the victims of the recent violence, including those killed in the attack on Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area, where many lives were lost. Those who took part in the procession spoke out about the rising insecurity and called for healing, unity, and a renewed sense of justice in the state.
