Rangers and Fenerbahce Knocked Out of Champions League
Rangers were eliminated from the Champions League after a 2-0 defeat to Dynamo Kyiv in the second leg of the third qualifying round. The loss was compounded by a controversial second yellow card given to Rangers’ defender Jefte, leading to late goals from Dynamo substitutes Oleksandr Pikhalonok and Nazar Voloshyn. Rangers coach Philippe Clement criticized the referee’s decision, noting its significant impact on the team’s performance and finances. Dynamo Kyiv advanced with a 3-1 aggregate and will face Salzburg in the next round.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce was also knocked out, losing to Lille 3-2 on aggregate. Lille secured their spot with a penalty from Jonathan David after a dramatic extra time. Fenerbahce had lost the first leg 2-1 but managed to force extra time with a late own goal. Lille’s next opponents will be Slavia Prague, who defeated Union Saint-Gilloise. Other notable results include Slovan Bratislava’s win over APOEL Nicosia and Bodo/Glimt’s aggregate victory over Jagiellonia Bialystok. Malmo overcame PAOK in a thrilling tie, while Qarabag achieved a stunning win over Ludogorets with a remarkable 8-4 aggregate score.
Liverpool have released a list of players who are confirmed to leave the club this summer.
The list includes star players Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konaté. While some players are leaving, others have been offered new contracts.
The players who have been offered fresh terms include Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O’Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman, Matthew Wright, Prince Cisse, and Keyrol Figueroa.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has urged Ademola Lookman to consider a move to Galatasaray.
It can be noted that Lookman recently completed a transfer to Atlético Madrid, and since then, many European clubs have shown interest in the player.
Osimhen then shared an encouraging message to the player, stating that he would be welcome at Galatasaray.
