Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella has joked that he won’t be going too hard on Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal when the two meet in the Champions League this November.

The pair are teammates with Spain, and Cucurella admits he’ll need Yamal fit and firing for the national team. Speaking after Spain’s 3-0 win over Bulgaria in Thursday’s World Cup qualifier, the defender said he’s looking forward to the clash but won’t be reckless.

“I’m ready to face him at club level,” Cucurella said. “He’s already teased me about it, but I can’t injure him because I need him for Spain. It’s going to be tough for them, though, especially with us playing at home.”

Chelsea will host Barcelona at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League group stage on November 25.
