A man, whose wife, Mrs. Favour Igiebor, was seen in a viral video appearing to destroy his passport at the airport, has clarified the situation and is seeking forgiveness from Nigerians. According to the man, the incident was part of a scripted performance rather than a real act of destruction.

In a recent video shared on their family’s Instagram account, the man explained that the passport shown in the video was not his, and the destruction was staged for the skit.

He expressed his regret over the misunderstanding and the video’s unintended viral spread, emphasizing that his real passport remains undamaged and intact.

The man urged the public to refrain from making unfounded assumptions and to avoid escalating the situation. He underscored that as proud Nigerian citizens, they would never intentionally damage a Nigerian passport, and the portrayal was purely for entertainment purposes.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) had previously initiated an official investigation into the incident following the public’s reaction.
