The Nigerian U-20 women’s football team, the Falconets, suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Mexico in their final warm-up match ahead of the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The friendly match saw Alejandro Lomeli score the decisive goal for the Mexican side just ten minutes into the game, giving them an early lead that the Falconets were unable to overcome.

This loss comes after the Falconets’ earlier victory, where they defeated Australia 2-1 in their first friendly match of the preparatory series.

Despite this setback, the Nigerian team remains focused on their upcoming challenge as they prepare for their first fixture in the World Cup against South Korea.

Head coach Chris Danjuma and his team will travel to Bogota, Colombia, where they will face the South Koreans on Sunday, September 1.
