Tinubu Urges Brazil’s New Envoy to Prioritize Direct Flights
President Bola Tinubu has urged Carlos Areias, Brazil’s new Ambassador to Nigeria, to prioritize establishing direct flights between the two nations.
During their meeting in Abuja, where Areias presented his credentials, Tinubu reiterated his earlier discussions with Brazilian President Lula da Silva about this issue.
Tinubu affirmed Nigeria’s commitment to enhancing relations with Brazil and welcomed Brazil’s G20 presidency in 2024. He encouraged exploring investment opportunities in Nigeria, especially in dairy farming. Areias, in turn, expressed President Lula’s enthusiasm for hosting Tinubu at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in November 2024 and invited Nigeria to join Brazil’s Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty. He also committed to improving trade relations between the two countries.

US President Donald Trump criticizes the Nigeria government once again after the increase of insecurity over the past few days. The president stated that the government is failing to protect Christian communities from the attacks going on.
