Primate Ayodele Urges Tinubu to Address Rising Food Prices for Government Stability
On Tuesday, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, cautioned President Bola Tinubu to find a sustainable solution to the soaring prices of food items if he hopes to maintain stability within his administration.
Primate Ayodele criticized the current approach of the Tinubu-led government, suggesting that it appears to be floundering in its efforts to tackle the issue of rising food costs.
He accused certain elements of undermining the government’s efforts and leveraging the situation to create political challenges for the administration.
In a statement released by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet warned that the government’s short-term measures to address food prices are insufficient and could potentially exacerbate the situation.
He argued that without a comprehensive and long-term strategy, the government’s attempts to mitigate the crisis will likely lead to increased hardship for the populace.
Ayodele expressed concern that the government’s current strategy is merely a temporary fix, which he believes will ultimately lead to more difficulties rather than relief.
“The government appears to be at a loss about how to handle the escalating prices of food items.
Their short-term solutions are not effective and will only bring about more suffering,” he stated. He also indicated that the ongoing rise in food prices could fuel unrest and make it challenging for the government to achieve peace and stability.
While Ayodele acknowledged the efforts of individuals and churches that have been working to ease the burden on the public, he emphasized that these contributions cannot substitute for substantial governmental action.
He commended the various entities that have been involved in alleviating hardship but stressed that the government has a crucial role to play in implementing effective and lasting solutions.
