“New Refinery to Meet Fuel Demand of Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa” – Dangote
Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group, announced on Tuesday that the newly built Dangote Refinery will have the capacity to satisfy the fuel needs of both Nigeria and the broader Sub-Saharan African region.
During a press conference, Dangote emphasized that the refinery’s products would be of superior quality, capable of competing with any petroleum product globally.
The refinery, which is located in Lagos and has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is set to release its first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) soon.
Speaking at the event, Dangote expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian government, highlighting that their support was instrumental in making the project a reality.
“We are deeply grateful to the President and the government for their backing. Without their assistance, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this milestone.
I believe this refinery will not only change the landscape of the oil industry in Nigeria but also have a far-reaching impact across Sub-Saharan Africa,” Dangote stated.
He further explained that the refinery’s output would comfortably meet Nigeria’s domestic fuel demand and extend its reach to other countries within the region.
“Our refinery has the capacity to meet not just Nigeria’s needs but also the demands of Sub-Saharan Africa. You can expect high-quality petrol that will improve the performance of vehicle engines and prolong their lifespan.
With this, engine problems related to poor fuel quality will be a thing of the past,” Dangote added.
He also noted that the products from the Dangote Refinery would be of the highest global standards, comparing them favourably with petroleum products from the United States and other developed countries.
