C&S Church Bans Rituals for ‘Yahoo Boys,’ Urges Prophets to Uphold True Doctrine
The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church Worldwide has issued a directive urging its prophets to stop conducting rituals for young individuals involved in internet fraud, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo.”
This announcement was made during a pre-centenary revival held in Osogbo on Monday.
Senior Apostle Samuel Onigbinde, who serves as the Chairman of C&S Unification in Osun State, emphasized the need for the church to eradicate unorthodox and questionable practices among its members.
He highlighted that the rituals performed by self-proclaimed prophets for those engaged in fraudulent activities stand in direct opposition to the true teachings of the church’s founder, Moses Orimolade.
According to Onigbinde, Orimolade’s message centered on healing through sincere prayer, fasting, and divine intervention, rather than the conjuring of spirits or other unsanctioned methods.
“One of the main objectives of the Unification is to tackle strange and inappropriate practices within the church.
The Cherubim and Seraphim Church is not a haven for ‘Yahoo boys,’ and any prophets who misuse our sacred white garment to perform such rituals must desist immediately,” Onigbinde asserted.
To enforce this stance, a committee has been established to ensure that all members adhere strictly to the doctrines laid down by Prophet Orimolade.
The move signals the church’s commitment to uphold spiritual purity and distance itself from any associations that may taint its reputation or deviate from its core mission.
Pastor Olusegun Elijah, the convener of the pre-centenary revival, also addressed the gathering, drawing attention to the alarming rise in the number of churches across Nigeria.
He attributed this proliferation to widespread unemployment in the country, which has driven many individuals to open churches not out of a genuine desire to serve God, but as a means of economic survival.
According to him, this phenomenon has contributed to the increasing rates of crime and social decay, as many churches lack the spiritual depth to offer true moral guidance.
Elijah further warned that despite the growing number of religious centers in the country, crime continues to flourish, exposing a critical failure among religious leaders to focus on the salvation of their congregations.
He noted that many clergy members have become entangled with the political class, aligning themselves with politicians and, as a result, losing their ability to act as moral watchdogs.
“The surge in crime, despite the explosion of religious centers, is a clear indication that religious leaders have lost sight of their true calling.
Many are now driven by personal interests and financial gain, while neglecting their responsibility to hold political leaders accountable,” Elijah stated.
He concluded by urging religious leaders to refrain from political fraternization and to instead concentrate on their spiritual duties, serving as beacons of moral integrity in society.

IPOB Disowns Simon Ekpa Due to His Arrest And Calls for Focus on Biafra Struggle
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have urged their members to stay focused on their mission to achieve an independent Biafran state and remain calm amidst the arrest of Simon Ekpa, who describes himself as the Prime Minister of Biafra in Exile.
In a strong condemnation of Ekpa’s actions, IPOB emphasized that every crime has its consequences.
Emma Powerful, the group’s spokesperson, clarified that Simon Ekpa is not, and has never been, a member of IPOB. He accused Ekpa of using violence to destabilize the South-East region since 2021.
In a detailed statement, Powerful said, “Simon Ekpa has no affiliation with the global IPOB family or its leadership.
Despite false narratives claiming otherwise, he has never been registered as a member in Finland or any other part of the world.”
Powerful reiterated that IPOB, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu, has consistently pursued a peaceful path toward achieving Biafra’s independence.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu founded IPOB as a non-violent movement dedicated to self-determination through a United Nations-supervised referendum.
Despite repeated provocations and violent crackdowns by the Nigerian government, we have remained steadfast in our peaceful approach for over two decades,” he explained.
Ekpa, however, has been accused of exploiting the Biafran cause for personal gain.
“Many innocent Biafrans, driven by their passion for the Biafran struggle, initially believed in Simon Ekpa’s rhetoric.
Unfortunately, they later realized he was a destructive force, funded to undermine IPOB’s efforts.
He has recruited violent criminals under the guise of fighting for Biafra and formed the so-called Biafra Liberation Army, which has carried out atrocities in the Eastern region,” Powerful added.
Ekpa, who leads the self-proclaimed Biafra Government in Exile (BGIE), has been linked to violent activities that have harmed civilians.
Powerful accused both the Nigerian and Finnish governments of protecting Ekpa from accountability for his alleged crimes. Despite this, IPOB expressed confidence that justice would prevail.
The statement ended with a call for unity and focus: “We urge all IPOB members, Biafrans, and supporters of our cause to remain calm.
Our objective remains the same—to restore Biafra’s sovereignty through peaceful means.
No amount of sabotage can deter us from this goal.”
