Burna Boy has achieved another remarkable milestone, emerging as the top-grossing African artist in Canada. As revealed by Touring Data on June 13, 2024, his ‘I Told Them’ tour garnered $5.7 million from 69,219 tickets across 6 concerts, setting a new African record. This achievement adds to his previous accolades, such as headlining the Scotia Bank Arena in February 2024, marking the first time an African artist has done so.

Burna Boy’s groundbreaking endeavors underscore his global prominence as he continues to pioneer significant milestones for African artists. Earlier this year, he made history as the first African artist to perform at the Grammy main ceremony and received a nomination in a non-global category, further solidifying his impact on the international stage.

His success in 2024 has continued with the remix of Titom & Yuppe’s ‘Twala Bam,’ which became the first South African lead song to top the TurnTable Top 100 chart.

“I can take a 10-year break, come back, and still do a 50-arena tour. I have the catalogue. I might decide not to make another song for the rest of my life, and nobody is touching my catalogue.”

“There are so many other things music should be able to help you branch into. I am not saying we should retire. But I am not going to be 40 and dragging the spotlight with some 20-year-old kid.”
