In a bold move to fill the void left by Neymar Jr., Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal has reportedly offered Real Madrid a staggering €300 million for Brazilian forward Rodrygo.

The 22-year-old, who has been instrumental in Real Madrid’s recent successes, including their 2022 and 2024 La Liga–Champions League doubles, is seen as a prime candidate to rejuvenate Al-Hilal’s attacking prowess.

Neymar’s tenure with Al-Hilal was marred by injuries, limiting him to just seven appearances, during which he contributed one goal and three assists.

Following a severe cruciate ligament tear that sidelined him for the entire 2023-24 season, the club and Neymar mutually agreed to terminate his contract. The Brazilian star has since returned to his former club, Santos, on a six-month deal.

Al-Hilal is reportedly prepared to offer Rodrygo a lucrative salary to entice him to the Saudi Pro League. However, Rodrygo, who recently extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2028, has expressed his desire to remain with the Spanish giants and continue his development in European football.

Former Chelsea defender, David Luiz, has praised attacking midfielder Cole Palmer for his outstanding performances since joining the club. Luiz, who was part of Chelsea’s 2012 and 2017 Champions League-winning teams, described Palmer as a world-class player with exceptional intelligence.

Palmer, who made the move to Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2023, has quickly become a key player for the Blues. His first season was impressive, earning him the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year and Premier League Young Player of the Year awards.

The 22-year-old continues to shine this season, with 14 goals and 6 assists under his belt for manager Enzo Maresca’s side.

Luiz reflected on Palmer’s decision to leave Manchester City, stating, “Cole, like Eden [Hazard], is on another level, he’s a world-class player. He made a tough decision to leave City, but it was the right one. Now everyone can see the incredible talent he has.”

The Brazilian also praised Palmer’s intelligence on the pitch, saying, “He’s an intelligent player, and intelligent players are always hard to defend. He would have fit right into my Chelsea teams from 2012 and 2017. For world-class players, there’s always room.”
