Aishwarya Rai Bachchan once again stole the spotlight at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, marking her 22nd appearance at the prestigious event. Known for blending traditional Indian fashion with contemporary style, she did not disappoint, dazzling fans and fashion lovers alike with two stunning looks that highlighted her elegance and cultural pride.

On the first day, Aishwarya chose a beautiful ivory Banarasi sari designed by Manish Malhotra. The handwoven fabric from Varanasi featured delicate silver zari work, paired with a sheer dupatta embroidered with gold and silver thread. Her outfit was completed with a striking necklace adorned with hundreds of carats of Mozambique rubies and uncut diamonds. Additionally, one detail that caught everyone’s attention was the red sindoor she wore—a traditional symbol of marriage—which sparked conversations and was seen by many as a graceful nod desp personal rumors.

For the second day, she switched to a bold black velvet gown by Gaurav Gupta.

‏Also, the gown had a sculpted neckline and intricate embroidery in silver and gold, creating a celestial design. She added a silver Banarasi brocade cape featuring a Sanskrit verse from the Bhagavad Gita that read, “Do your duty, forget the outcome.” This meaningful message added depth to her look and sparked interest when the cape was accidentally stepped on during a photo moment with fellow stars Helen Mirren and Cara Delevingne.

Aishwarya’s choices shows her ongoing mission to showcase India’s rich culture on a global stage. By wearing traditional handloom textiles and incorporating spiritual messages into high fashion, she bridges heritage with modern glamour. Finally , her appearances at Cannes have become more than just about style—they celebrate Indian craftsmanship and culture, resonating deeply with audiences around the world.
