Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed his preference for Jürgen Klopp as the next England manager, should the position become available.

The England and Liverpool defender reflected positively on his past experiences with Klopp, describing their time together as filled with “amazing memories” and a strong, “amazing bond.”

Despite his endorsement, Alexander-Arnold admits he would be astonished if Klopp were to take on the role.

Klopp, who has been linked with the England job since Gareth Southgate’s resignation following England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, seems to be enjoying his current break from football.

Alexander-Arnold noted that Klopp’s social media activity and recent public statements suggest he is content with his time off, making it seem unlikely that he would step into the England manager’s position.

While names like Graham Potter, Eddie Howe, and Lee Carsley have been floated as potential candidates, Alexander-Arnold’s comments highlight his belief in Klopp’s potential but also recognize the improbability of such a move given Klopp’s current enjoyment of his hiatus.
