Alibaba Rejects Politics, Criticizes Nigeria’s Flawed Constitution
In a recent interview on the With Chude podcast, comedian Alibaba explained why he refuses to enter Nigerian politics, citing the country’s flawed constitution and corrupt system.
He bluntly criticized the constitution, stating, “If you bring Obama to run Nigeria with that constitution, he will fail.” He emphasized that the political system is broken and requires significant reforms to function properly.
Alibaba also highlighted the dangers of transparency within the system, recalling a House of Assembly member who exposed budget padding and was swiftly removed. He shared concerns that anyone challenging the status quo, including himself, would not survive long in such a corrupt environment. Despite his experience and networks, he believes that political appointments would be short-lived due to the pervasive corruption that civil servants rely on.
