Amorim Says Man U Is Not Ready for Champions League or Any European Competition
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that his side is not yet ready to compete in European tournaments this season, whether the Champions League, Europa League, or the Conference League.
The Portuguese coach, who took charge after leaving Sporting CP, explained that United still needs time to grow into a team capable of handling both the intensity of European football and the demands of the Premier League.
United endured a poor campaign last season, finishing 15th in the league. Their last shot at Europe slipped away when they lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Amorim was clear about where his team stands. “I don’t think we were prepared for Europe, that’s just the truth,” he said. “To face strong Champions League fixtures and then come back to play in the Premier League, you need a very solid base. We are still building that and it will take time.”
