Amorim Says Man United Are Focused on Bigger Goals Not Just Europa League
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim believes the club has bigger priorities than just chasing the UEFA Europa League trophy.
Ahead of their Europa League match against Real Sociedad on Thursday, Amorim emphasized that his main focus is on building a strong team rather than just securing silverware.
“Many see the Europa League as our best shot at winning a title and getting back into the Champions League,” he said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“But honestly, I think we have more important things to focus on. It may sound unusual, but the long-term project we are working on matters more than lifting a trophy right now.”
Man United are currently struggling in the Premier League, sitting in 14th place, and were recently knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham.
