AMVCA Returns for 12th Edition as Full Nominees List Drops

The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) is back for its 12th edition in 2026.

The nominees list has officially been released, and it has been announced that the award show will take place on May 9.

Several actors, actresses, filmmakers, and digital creators received nominations across different categories.

Nigerian TV host Afolabi Brown’s husband speaks on their relationship and the early years of their marriage, as well as the challenges they went through.

He said “The first three years of my marriage, there used to be a lot of yelling. But after five years, I realised I could trust my wife with everything.”

“I was fed a lot of wrong information in the early years of my marriage. I was told not to be too soft for my wife or else I would be taken for granted. Thankfully, my dad was there to correct me.”

He questioned why Nigerians are directing their anger at the singer when she has done nothing wrong.

“This is a bit of hypocrisy. Why are Nigerians holding Tyla accountable? The phones many of you are using to make these posts have MTN SIM cards in them, and many people watched DSTV last night.”

Pere Egbi Urges Nigerian Government to Block Tyla’s Visit

Former reality star and BBNaija star Pere Egbi has joined Nigerians in speaking about Tyla’s upcoming concert in Nigeria.

It can be noted that many Nigerians have made a big issue out of the concert after Ayra Starr’s concert in South Africa was cancelled due to the ongoing xenophobic tensions.

Pere called on the government to stop the concert, saying “Nigerian @nigimmigration, we are collectively imploring you to intentionally deny Tyla and her team visas as well. They can’t do this to our own and we welcome their own. Madness must match madness.”
