Anambra PDP Wants Peter Obi to Return and Rebuild the Party for a Better Nigeria
The Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on former governor Peter Obi to return to the party. Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party after leaving the PDP, was invited back during an expanded meeting of the PDP State Executive Committee held in Awka on Thursday.
In a statement signed by the state chairman, Chidi Chidebe, the party warned that forming alliances with groups that do not share similar values may not bring the expected results. He urged all former and aggrieved PDP members in the state, especially Peter Obi, to come back and join hands with the restructured and energized party. “We openly welcome all our brothers and sisters back, especially our respected former governor, Mr Peter Obi, to join us in our mission to build a better Nigeria,” Chidebe said.
He also encouraged voters in Anambra to support PDP candidates Jude Ezenwafor and Francis Okeke in the upcoming elections. Chidebe further appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the process is free, fair, and transparent. In the same meeting, the party announced the unanimous nomination of Chief Clems Ezike as Anambra’s National Ex-Officio and asked the Southeast Zonal Executive Committee, led by Chief Ali Odefa, to forward his name to the PDP national secretariat.
Spiritual leader Primate Elijah Ayodele warns the APC against being too confident ahead of the 2027 election.
He shared “Overconfidence will kill APC; they will be too overconfident, and that will be the party’s weakness in the election. They will turn Tinubu to a demi-god, but it will make them lose the election. They believe money can do everything, but it will fail in the 2027 election,” Ayodele said.
Ayodele has repeatedly warned the APC not to assume that its current political strength will automatically translate into victory in 2027.
Politician Atiku Abubakar claims that President Bola Tinubu is 90 and says he can prove it.
He shared in a recent interview that he has evidence and can prove it, while also stating that he can serve Nigeria better and sharing how he has the qualities to be Nigeria’s leader.
“You have a President who is 90 years old now and sick and I am healthy and strong. So why won’t I make myself available to serve my country?”
“You went and voted for someone who is 80, I mean 90 years old. How old is President Bola, 90?”
Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose speaks on the upcoming election and shares that it has basically started now with who the people support.
While backing Peter Obi, he shared “2027 election campaign has officially kicked off. I’m happy because it’s time to take our country back. Recall that President Tinubu once told us that if he doesn’t provide electricity, we should not vote for him. APC is a failed government. Let’s start a door-to-door campaign for Mr Peter Obi. The (OK) ticket is all we want.”
He urged Nigerians to start showing their support and vote.
