APC’s Okpebholo Leads Edo Guber Race with 11 LGAs
The collation of results from the Edo State governorship election continued on Sunday, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, leading the race.
As of the latest updates from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okpebholo had secured victories in 11 out of the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) announced so far.
According to Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, the APC was ahead with 275,329 votes.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) followed closely with 220,892 votes, while the Labour Party (LP) trailed behind with 18,737 votes. One local government, Ikpoba-Okha, remained pending.
Tensions briefly rose during the collation as a PDP agent from Oredo Local Government Area contested the announced results, alleging tampering.
However, APC representatives rejected the claim, maintaining that the process had been fair.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Speaks on Forgiveness and Moving Forward
First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has shared that she has forgiven those who betrayed her husband during the 2023 general elections.
She revealed this as she marked a new age, reflecting on what the future holds. She emphasized that she holds no grudge against anyone.
“I do not have anything against anyone. The question is how I stopped feeling the betrayal? I knew the grace factor was evident, and the Holy Spirit continually comforted me. I chose never to avenge myself, understanding that it is God’s prerogative. Mine is to thank Him for fighting for us.
