Atalanta Fans Calls Lookman Ungrateful After He Tried to Force Transfer to Inter
Atalanta fans have turned their frustration on Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman after his push to leave the club during the summer transfer window.
Supporters showed their displeasure in Bergamo by unveiling a banner that read, “No. 11 reintegrated but for us, you remain ungrateful.” The message was directed at Lookman, who many fans feel betrayed them despite becoming an important part of the team.
The 27-year-old was at the center of a tense transfer saga last month after Atalanta blocked his desired move to Inter Milan. In an effort to force the deal, Lookman handed in a transfer request and even stayed away from the team for a period.
Now back in the squad, Lookman is expected to feature in what could be his first match of the season when Atalanta take on Torino.
