Beyoncé Makes History With First Album of the Year Win at 2025 Grammys

Beyoncé has achieved a historic milestone at the 2025 Grammy Awards, securing her first-ever Album of the Year award for her country-inspired project, Cowboy Carter.
This victory marks the first time a Black woman has won this prestigious category since Lauryn Hill’s triumph in 1999.
Cowboy Carter not only clinched Album of the Year but also earned the accolade for Best Country Album, making Beyoncé the first Black woman in over five decades to win a Grammy in a country category.
During the ceremony, Taylor Swift presented the award to a visibly moved Beyoncé, who expressed her gratitude to God, her family, and collaborators.
She emphasized the importance of perseverance in transcending genre boundaries and acknowledged the contributions of Black and LGBTQ+ artists to country music.
