Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, recently disclosed that her daughter has decided to step away from acting. In an Instagram post, Tina shared a clip from the 2008 film “Cadillac Records,” where Beyoncé portrayed Etta James.
She expressed her admiration for the performance, stating, “This is still one of my favorite movies, and it makes me miss the fact that my child decided not to continue with movies.”
Beyoncé’s acting career includes notable roles in films such as “Carmen: A Hip Hopera” (2001), “Austin Powers in Goldmember” (2002), “The Fighting Temptations” (2003), “The Pink Panther” (2006), “Dreamgirls” (2006), and “Obsessed” (2009).
Her most recent on-screen appearance was over a decade ago. However, she has continued to lend her voice to animated projects, including 2019’s “The Lion King” and the recent “Mufasa: The Lion King,” released in 2024.
In her Instagram post, Tina Knowles also stated Beyoncé’s philanthropic efforts, mentioning that her daughter “unselfishly donated her salary to the Phoenix House,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals recovering from substance abuse.
